Assessments:
Grading will be a combination of observation, project assessment, performance
on assigned tasks, completion of competency
list, community service, and portfolio assessment.
Beyond these items, daily assessment will be made on promptness/attendance,
attitude, effort, and quality of assigned work. A complete weighting
of these assessments is found on the Assessment
page of this site.
Community
Service: A reasonable effort is expected in achieving the
goal of exploring the world of Graphic Communications through projects creating artwork, printing documents, operating equipment and learning business practices associated with the graphic and printing industry. Client
interviews, after school activities, and meeting attendance are mandatory.
Expectations:
Students are expected to behave in a manner consistent with acceptable
business practices. The daily assessment of promptness, attitude, effort,
and quality will be heavily weighted in the student's final grade. When
a student enters the classroom they should consider themselves in a
work environment, and conduct themselves in a suitable manner.
Communication:
Open and honest (and occasionally private) communication is essential
to our success in this course, for both student and instructor. My email
link can be found above. Assignments will be posted on the web page
whenever possible, to aid in a student's ability to maintain currency
in the course. Assignments will be posted to Google Classroom for each lesson. Any special requirements may be discussed. Every effort
will be made to accommodate students who make an effort on course work. If you miss a class, the day's assignment will be posted
on this site.
